The particulars of its

organization, functions and duties

The land acquisition proposals received from various acquiring bodies through the collector Mumbai Suburban District are to be scrutinized and processed  further for acquisition in accordance with the provisions of the Land Acquisition Act 1894.& the Govt. resolution and circulars received from time to time. After declaration of acquisition Award , possession takenover from the land owner and handed over to the acquiring body. Finally the amount of compensation is paid to the land owner.

The power and duties of its officers and employees.

To initiate  preliminary enquiry to direct and get done the joint measurement of land to be acquired from concerned  CTSO To issue & publish notifications u/s 4 & 6 after obtaining the permission from Additional Collector/Commissioner  as the case may be.To conduct enquiry u/s 5 , 9 & 10 and to declare Award u/s 11 of the Act after obtaining prior approval from Collector/Commissioner & Govt as the case may be.

The Procedure followed in decision making process including channels of supervision and accountability.

The land acquisition officer works under the supervision of Additional Collector, Additional Commissioner, assisted by the Awal Karkun,2Clerks,.

The Govt. in Revenue and Forest Dept.,have fixed target of 25 units per month under Govt.Circular under No.LQN-1991/CR-4947/A2 dated 30/9/1992

The work is discharged under Land Acquisition Act 1894 and M R T P Act 1966as per the guidelines received from Govt. under various Resolutions and Circulars.
