Sanjay Gandhi Yojana

Preface: 

Maharashtra Government provide financial assistance to destitute persons, blind, disabled, orphan children, persons suffering from major illness, divorced women, abandoned women, women freed from prostitution, etc. through different schemes. In these schemes some schemes have implemented by State Government and some by Central Government and Some schemes have implemented by both state and central Government combined.

Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana:

Aim :To provide financial assistance to destitute persons, blind, disabled, orphan children, persons suffering from major illnesses, divorced women, abandoned women, women freed from prostitution, outraged women, Transgender, etc.

Eligibility Criteria :-

  • Below age of 65 years
  • Annual family income upto Rs. 21,000/-

Financial Assistance :-

Each Beneficiary will get Rs.600/- per month and family with more than one beneficiary will get Rs.900/- per month Benefit will be given to beneficiary till his/her children become 25 years old or he /she gets employed, whichever occurs first. If beneficiary has only daughters, the benefit will be continued even they become 25 years old or get married.

Shravan Bal Seva Rajya Nivrutti Vetan Yojna :

Aim :-To provide monthly pension to destitute aged persons.

Eligibility Criteria :-

  • Destitute aged persons of 65 years and above
  • Annual family income upto Rs. 21,000/- or persons belonging to Below Poverty Line family.
  • Persons should be the resident of state for 15 years.

Financial Assistance :-Pension amount of Rs.600/- per month for beneficiary with annual family income upto Rs.21,000/- Pension amount of Rs.400/- per month for beneficiary belonging to BPL family + Rs. 200 per month from Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme.

Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme : 

Aim :-To provide monthly pension to destitute aged person.

Eligibility Criteria :-

  • Destitute aged persons of 65 years and above
  • Persons belonging to Below Poverty Line family
  • Persons should be the resident of state for 15 years.

Financial Assistance :-Pension amount of Rs.200/- per month + Rs.400/- per month from Shravan Bal Rajya Seva Nivruti Vetan Yojana.

  • Certificate of Income / Proof of Below Poverty Line family.

Indira Gandhi National Disability / Handicap Pension Scheme :-

Aim:- To provide monthly pension to handicapped persons.

Eligibility Criteria :-

  • Handicap persons of age group of 18 to 65 years.
  • Persons belonging to Below Poverty Line family
  • Persons should be the resident of state for 15 years.

Financial Assistance :-Pension amount of Rs.200/- per month + Rs.400/- per month from Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Anudan Yojana.

  • Certificate of Age
  • Proof of Below Poverty Line family
  • Certificate of Disability as per Central Government norms.

Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme :

Aim :- To provide monthly pension to widow.

Eligibility Criteria :-

  • Widow of age group of 40 to 65 years.
  • Persons belonging to Below Poverty Line family
  • Persons should be the resident of state for 15 years.

Financial Assistance :-Rs.200/- per month + Rs.400/- per month from Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Anudan Yojana.

Documents Required :-

  •  Application Form.
  • Certificate of Age.
  • Proof of Below Poverty Line family
  • Death Certificate of Husband.

National Family Benefit Scheme :-

Aim :- To provide a lump sum family benefit to households below the poverty line on the death of the primary breadwinner in the bereaved family.

Eligibility Criteria :-

  • On death of a primary breadwinner of age group of 18 to 64 years from BPL family.

Financial Assistance :- A lump sum amount of Rs.10,000/-.

  • Proof of Below Poverty Line family.
  • Death Certificate.
